What is D6?
Crossroads is a D6 church, which means we strive to transfer faith from one generation to the next, as God directs us in Deuteronomy 6:4-9.
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. [a] Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
We believe that lasting faith can be built by doing three things together as a family at home:
Pray together daily.
Have a faith talk together once a week.
Serve together once a month.
We refer to these three actions collectively as The Big 3. Praying, talking and serving provide practical ways to implement God’s D6 plan for families.
To Crossroads, God has made three things very clear about D6:
- 1. God created the child to shape the future.
- 2. God chose the home to shape the child, and
- 3. God called the Church to shape the home.
- Stop by the Home Center for more information or for tools and resources
to help implement the Big 3.
